Family and Friends,
As you know we Bray’s have some trouble staying still for too long. In the 12 years Eric and I have been together we have moved from Georgia to California twice and back to Georgia this last time since 2008. Well the adventure must continue! After over six months of discussions, Eric and I have decided to further Eric’s career by taking an amazing transfer within his current company, Recall, to the United Kingdom! We are very excited about this endeavor and I am *so* hoping we will all take up a bit of a British accent too! There are so many things to do. Prepare the house to put it on the market, give away our extra items to Goodwill, store our beloved things that don’t need to go and then sell both our cars! Whew, I get tired just writing out my list.
Rest assured we will be able to get it all done and we are looking at being residents of London before the end of this year. Our children are excited about the new adventure and learning how to spell favorite with a “u!” We both are excited about immersing ourselves in a new culture, learning to drive on the left side of the street, picking up the changes and contexts of certain words and just enjoying living in Europe as well. Of course there is something to be said about being so close to different countries. A long weekend we can just take the train to Paris and sip French wine in the vineyard by Friday evening??? YES PLEASE!
We are going to probably leave Chloe with our loving Aunt Amy and her wonderful family, assuming the family falls in love with her like we have! We will have to find a home for Porter’s Betta Fish (Camouflage 2) as well although Teta Julie has already asked to take her! For those wondering about our sweet doggy Bailey’s, well her health has declined rapidly this year and will not be able to travel with us. After being with us for 9 years (she was 6 when we adopted her) our vet had checked her out and determined that she doesn’t think Bailey will last through the end of the year and certainly not on a flight to the UK. So we will love on her and keep her close until we absolutely must say goodbye.
I have a blog (or course!) started up that will take you through our trials. Starting from when we first were approached about the possibility of a move, all the way until the moment we are settled and truly residents of London (and even the differences we face while there.) I expect that the posts will range from happy, excited and upbeat to…. yelling/screaming/crazy rants about the difficulties we face in such a drastic move. I won’t bore you with any more details here, feel free to subscribe to the blog (there is a button you can click on the homepage to join it says “ CLICK HERE TO HOP THE POND WITH US! *SUBSCRIBE*”) as we take on this amazing new adventure in life together. If you have any advice!, questions or thoughts on the move please let me know. Now don’t forget to bookmark the URL below to follow us along the way to the U.K.!
